AIME will also offer greater diversity of business opportunities for exhibitors this year with buyers coming from 33 countries which is a significant increase from the 25 countries represented last year

Destination Presentations (DPs)

Destination Presentations (DPs) provide exhibitors with the opportunity to target a greater number of hosted buyers over the 2 days at AIME.

Destination Appointments allow eligible exhibitors to have face to face meetings with a group  of hosted buyers and at the same time to offer them a detailed overview of their destination.

Appointments will be 30 minutes each and take place on the exhibitors stand.

 Increased number of pre-tours

This year the Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau (MCVB) has added three new regions to its pre-touring options. The Yarra Valley, only an hour's drive from Melbourne, the Yarra Valley is one of Australia's premium wine regions. It is also known for its five star resorts and conference facilities, nature based activities and gourmet food; the spectacular Southern Grampians mountain range, the heart of Victoria's 'Western District' and the inland oasis of Mildura, situated beside the Murray River and home to the famous Stephano's Restaurant.

Pre touring commences on Saturday 27 February in a range of destinations around Victoria

New Exhibitor news for AIME 2010

Asian exhibitors return en masse
AIME 2010 will see a strong line up of Asia exhibitors. Visitors and buyers can expect to see a major presence from Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, Thailand, the Philippines, India, China and Indonesia. Brunei and Japan will also be represented.

Tourism Malaysia has increased its presence and will sponsor the Globe Restaurant & Bar, allowing exhibitors and visitors to experience a taste of Malaysia at AIME. The increasing popular destination of Sabah will also have a strong presence.

Vietnam, considered one of the most rapidly expanding meeting and incentive markets will be well represented with co-exhibitors including Vietnam Airlines, Victoria Hotels and Hanoi.

And, for the first time, Seoul will be taking its own stand, in addition to the area booked by Korea.

South Pacific on show
AIME also attracts a number of exhibitors from the beautiful islands of the South Pacific and participants in 2010 will include Fiji, Cook Islands, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Tahiti.

Middle East exhibitors return
Dubai returns to AIME, once again with a significant showcase of meetings and incentive products and services from this rapidly growing Emirate. It is joined by other Middle East exhibitors including Qatar, Etihad, Abu Dhabi, Jumeirah and for the first time Palazzo Versace Dubai.

Internationals add more flavor to AIME
AIME 2010 will again see a number of international exhibitors promoting their destinations and services to the Asia Pacific marketplace. Joining the internationals exhibitors at AIME for the first time will be Lufthansa German Airlines, a Silver Airline Partner of AIME 2010.

Visitor and hosted buyers can also find out more about destinations such as Ireland, Spain, Peru, Vienna and Las Vegas. Another first time exhibitor is Delta Air Lines, the world’s largest airline.

Australasia’s amazing array of exhibits
AIME is the largest meetings and incentive event in Australia and therefore attracts all the major players in the Australasian market.

Australia’s convention bureaux and convention and exhibition centres continue to have a major presence at AIME.

Melbourne and Sydney have large areas with many co-exhibitors. The Melbourne stand will include representatives from Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau, and their members, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and Business Events Victoria the body representing regional operators.

Business Events Sydney (BES) will once again have a significant presence at AIME and will be using the exhibition to position itself as the gateway to Australia.

This year Queensland exhibitors will be located in the same area, allowing each destination to showcase its wide range of venues and activities. Queensland exhibitors include Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns and far north Queensland.

Perth Convention Bureau has increased its space at AIME 2010 and will have more co-exhibitors and new properties on show.

The Northern Territory will once again have a strong presence including some fabulous incentive product plus the Darwin Convention Centre. They will also bring a taste of the region to AIME with famous chef and restaurateur, Jimmy Shoo in attendance.

Conventions & Incentives New Zealand will once again bring together a range of products and services from both the north and south islands of their beautiful country, offering some of the most spectacular experiences available to conference and incentive organisers.

One of the major changes being seen on the exhibition floor in 2010 is the consolidation of some of the major hotel groups, incorporating all their brands on the one stand, instead of placing them on destination stands. One example of this is Accor, who has increased its space in order to include its many brands.
