AIME is a proud charity partner of Just a Drop, a charity initiative of Reed Travel Exhibitions. During AIME 2010 various fundraising activities took place to raise money to support their Just Help Haiti appeal following the recent disaster.
Hundreds of people have died without access to clean, safe water supplies, while 50% of people currently in hospitals in Haiti are there due to dirty water. Just a Drop will send in teams as soon as the initial relief period is over to help rebuild water and sanitation infrastructure and encourage displaced communities back to their villages and homes.
We are very happy to report that through the efforts of the silent auction, the spare change drop buckets and pedometer sales over $2,000 was raised. Reed Travel Exhibitions UK has kindly agreed to match this amount, so over $4,000 will be donated to the Just Help Haiti appeal.
With this donation, Just a Drop has recruited a French speaking water engineer who will be travelling to Haiti to assess the situation and develop an onsite plan to start the revelopment program.
