Breakout Session: Harnessing the Power of Human-centred Design for Events

UX, CX and experience design have taken the world by storm, transforming industries like banking, travel and e-commerce. Now, this trend is hitting the events industry, and it’s no longer acceptable to audiences, sponsors or stakeholders to roll out cookie cutter or once-size-fits-all event experiences. To craft memorable, personalised, exceptional experiences we need to employ the tools of human-centred design and user experience design – and they’re not as complicated as your might think. This session will introduce you to ideas and tools such as rapid research, empathy, personas, journey mapping and design principles and how you can apply them to your next event.

Learner outcomes:

  • Identify the principles of human-centred design and how they lead to unforgettable event experiences
  • Apply human-centred and user experience design to your events
  • Use the Event Experience Map tool to engage your audience in a deeper and more unique way
