Workshop: Strategic Approach to Building Meeting Legacies
Brought to you by:

Global leadership in legacy planning and implementation is a powerful value proposition. When destinations can demonstrate and facilitate legacy outcomes for associations, they facilitate association success.
Association meetings have broad impacts on the host destination and the wider world. Whether it is for economic impact or societal benefits, every destination which has recognised the strategic importance of hosting international congresses is taking steps to harness the power of conventions to drive their agendas.
This workshop hopes to instil a culture of vision and planning among the host destination and their supplier communities. Legacy benefits for host destinations are not accidental – there needs to be forward thinking and collaboration to maximise the benefits of hosting conventions.
Learning Outcomes:
- Be able to identify the difference between short term meeting outcomes and mid-long term legacies from conventions
- Understand what motivates associations when they hold conventions and how these can be linked to destination benefits
- Develop strategic approaches when hosting conventions in order to leverage on post event legacies
This session also includes a morning tea break from 10.45 – 11.00 am.
