Breakout Sessions: Industry Matters

There are 3 million women in Australia aged 40 to 59, with menopause-aged women representing 26% of the country's workforce, making them the fastest-growing demographic in the workplace. The 19th World Congress on Menopause in Melbourne highlighted that a significant proportion of the workforce experiences perimenopause and menopause symptoms, which can persist for many years. An international study by Cronin et al. (2023) found that menopause remains largely unsupported in workplaces, with no formal support structures in place and managers often uninformed or unsupportive. Support, when provided, is often based solely on personal experience. Join the conversation and help shape a future for the business events industry that fosters a safer, menopause-friendly workplace.
