Meet the AIME Team: Kelly Irwin

8 April 2020 •

The AIME Team are working hard behind the ‘screen’ adapting to the new normal and brainstorming ways to make the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event better than ever in 2021. We want to introduce you to Kelly Irwin, our new Event Manager, who will be leading the team with fresh ideas and a positive attitude. We asked Kelly a few fun questions to give the AIME community the opportunity to get to know her as well as we do!

  1. Why do you love events?
Events are so rewarding! I love organising, finding solutions, coming up with new content ideas, researching, sales and of course the anticipation and adrenaline leading up to the event. There’s no greater feeling than seeing all of your hard work come to life and watching attendees walking around connecting with smiles on their faces. It certainly makes the long hours and sore feet worth every moment and I wouldn’t do anything else.
  2. What is your favourite destination in the world?
I have 3; Cape Town, Phuket and Santorini. I love beautiful views and they all have incredible ones.
  3. What is the last book you read?
    It’s been a while … oops.
  4. What three words best describes you?
    Positive, outgoing and friendly.
  5. What have you learnt this year?
Appreciate everything and everyone in your life. Some people have nothing and in times like these, feel blessed for what you have. Always help those who are struggling or need a little something extra because you never know if it might be you in the same situation one day.
  6. What is a fact about you that surprises people?
I’ve lived in 13 countries; I feel most at home in an airport and nothing makes me happier than travelling the world!
  7. What are your daily simple pleasures during these isolated times?
Figuring out my next holiday destination, watching YouTube videos of different business class airline experiences, cooking fresh meals and wearing no makeup. I’ve also started watching ‘Undercover Boss’ and I can’t stop!
  8. What are you looking forward to most when isolation is over?
Socialising with my friends and colleagues, being able to walk freely in public again (appreciating freedom!!) and travelling!
