Meet the AIME Team: Renae McElligott

19 May 2020 •

The AIME Team are working hard behind the ‘screen’ adapting to the new normal and brainstorming ways to make the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event better than ever in 2021. Renae McElligott is the newest addition to the AIME Team and has a fresh pool of ideas from her previous experience working in the events industry in the APAC region. Renae is an experienced sales executive with a naturally personable disposition and the rare ability to talk to a brick wall for hours (if she had to)! The AIME Team are lucky to have such a young-at-heart sales executive who is always up for a quality chat and a great team player.

  1. Why do you love events?
I love the collaborative nature of events. Every element of event delivery is collaborative – from brainstorming and innovating as an organiser, to attending an industry peer’s event and networking or doing business with exhibitors. Events require all parties to come to the table with energy, an open mind and a shared interest. When they do, the result is so rewarding.
  2. What is your favourite destination in the world?
Morocco! The heat, camel trekking and glamping in the Sahara, hiking the Atlas Mountains, eating tagine three times a day, drinking Moroccan mint tea and getting lost in vibrant Medinas really did it for me.
  3. What is the last book you read?
The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne.
  4. What three words best describes you?
    Curious, positive and determined.
  5. What have you learnt this year?
    Adapt, adapt, adapt!
  6. What is a fact about you that surprises people?
I played Rugby throughout primary school.
  7. What are your daily simple pleasures during these isolated times?
Short walks to the fridge from my home office.
  8. What are you looking forward to most when isolation is over?
Flying to Brisbane to meet my new niece, Valentina!
