Three brand-new Crowne Plaza hotels will arrive in early 2020, signifying the start of the brand’s vision to build hotels of the future. IHG is getting ready to welcome Crowne Plaza Sydney Darling Harbour, Crowne Plaza Hobart and Crowne Plaza Adelaide all by early Q2 2020.
CROWNE PLAZA’S GLOBAL VISION
Globally, the brand is undergoing significant transformation with the roll-out of its flagship model which defines a vision to design hotels of the future. The flagship model is inspired by the continued guest demand for flexible spaces and changing attitudes and behaviours of the modern traveller, leaning on design aspects that move guests seamlessly between work time and downtime. By early 2020, IHG will have opened six flagship hotels in the U.S., Europe and China, including the recent Crowne Plaza Paris Republique featuring ‘Plaza Workspace’: inspiring, functional lobbies for work and play.
CLOSER TO HOME…
In Australia, excitement is ramping up as Crowne Plaza announce three new hotels. These hotels represent the most significant milestone in the brand’s journey, while the transition toward flexible, modern design is further strengthened with investments across the estate, including Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific, Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach, Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley and Crowne Plaza Melbourne.
Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific has unveiled phase one of its refurbishment with all-new conferencing facilities, including significant upgrades to technology for guests. The installation of ‘e-concierge’ offers superior support to meeting coordinators, while access to Encore meeting enhancements such as the Cumulus Event app allow event planners to instantly and easily share event information with delegates. Similarly, design upgrades to Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley will see its guest rooms reimagined with open plan settings, new Chromecast technology and design-led bathrooms.
Crowne Plaza Sydney Darling Harbour will see 153 new guest rooms, three distinct dining destinations, zoning in the rooms for optimal functionality, and the main attraction: the level 9 rooftop pool which also serves as a unique meeting and event space in the city. Minutes from Sydney’s International Convention Centre, the hotel is the perfect base for pre- and post-meetings with four conference rooms offering over 3230 sq ft of space.
Crowne Plaza Melbourne: the multi-million-dollar phased refurbishment is scheduled to be completed by mid-2020, and we’ve already seen unveiling of all 402 guestrooms with contemporary bathrooms, standalone showers with state-of-the-art showerheads, premium bedding, designer furnishings and striking artwork a feature. Phase two will see all new restaurant & bar concepts come to life, new fitness centre, pool area and reception, as well as new arrival from the southern entrance.
Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach: kicking off from June 2019, Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach has been undergoing its transformation to adapt and innovate with its multi-million-dollar refurbishment. Significant upgrades will be made across with contemporary new business and leisure spaces – designed with ultimate flexibility and functionality for both work and play. All 209 guestrooms are being re-imagined with a redesign and fit-out of bathrooms, as well as premium beds, carpet, drapes and a subtle colour palette that complements the blue hues of the stunning beachside surrounds.
