The AIME squad are an incredible collection of people and we love to share our stories with you all! Today we are thrilled to be introducing the lovely Suzie Kovacevic for our ‘Team Behind the Screens’ series.

Suzie joined our team this month to help make #AIME2022 one of the biggest industry celebrations for our beloved events community. She comes to us with a wealth of experience in the sponsorship and events industry, most recently working for Destination Wollongong where she promoted events and venues in the southern highlands region.

Why do you love events?
I have been so fortunate to work in the event industry both nationally and internationally for over 25 years. I’ve met so many amazing people from different cultures, backgrounds and industries (ranging from the highly scientific medical sector to super yachts!). Bringing a wonderful range of people together in creative physical spaces to bond with their colleagues, partners, clients and industry.

Delivering a successful event makes all the hard work worthwhile; I love working with our clients to go above and beyond expectations, delighting attendees through amazing experiences and delivering outstanding exhibitions.

What can I say, I love my job!

What is your favourite destination in the world?
This is a hard question because there are so many places I love to travel to. I grew up in Coogee, close to the beach so that is something I am always attracted to when I travel. For that reason, I love going to Europe and discovering the coastal towns that combine the beauty of the Mediterranean with history, art, food, people and culture.

I have been fortunate to spend time there (both for work and pleasure) exploring out-of-the-way places that will remain forever in my memory. Malta, Croatia Holland to name a few, I have been very lucky!

What is the last book you read?
Although I love to read books, I am increasingly drawn towards autobiographies, blogs and listening to podcasts on a range of subjects including wellness, travel, cooking and even politics. I love expanding my mind and learning from other people’s knowledge and experiences, as it often reflects questions and circumstances going on in my life. But like so many others, give me a beach, sun lounge, shade and a good drama novel
and I am in heaven!

– To be kind to myself!
