Music to our Ears

16 July 2019 •

Live music is a staple of the Melbourne entertainment scene and as many live venues close their doors across town, it comes as a relief that the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) has launched a live music offering.

MCEC has elevated its presence in the live music scene with a new product offer for concert promoters.

Following an investment in infrastructure and new technology, the traditional exhibition bays can now be bought to life with new staging, lighting and audio set ups suitable for any concert.

The space can hold up to 3,000 general admission, giving touring companies another venue option right in the heart of Melbourne. Close to public transport and other entertainment precincts, MCEC’s offering will certainly hit the right note with the general public.

MCEC Chief Executive, Peter King said the new offering plays to a number of strengths.

“We’ve hosted countless live music events in our Plenary and know we have the cutting edge technology and expertise to bring these events to life,” Mr King said.

“Expanding our options for ticketed events is a natural progression, Melbourne’s been losing some of those spaces, and we’re looking at where we can fill the gaps.”

“Whoever you’re planning to put under the spotlight, we have the support, space and experience to ensure your event stands out from the crowd.”
