The Best Way To Welcome the AIME Community

6 March 2020 •

The AIME 2020 Welcome Party was nothing short of spectacular.

The AIME community came together for the show-stopping coastal oasis at the Atlantic Group’s beachfront venue, the Port Melbourne Yacht Club (PMYC).

The warm Melbourne summer night invited the 1000 guests to kick off their heels, dip their toes in the sand and party under the stars.

The Welcome Party was an event of firsts; the first event of it’s size and scale to be held at the PMYC, the first time the ‘Triple Giant Tipi’ has been built on the beach in Victoria and the first time a 100kg tuna has been rescued by Life Saving Victoria!

To match the casual beach party vibes, the four food zones scattered around the venue represented everyone’s favourite beach bites. With the Fish and Chippery serving up the classic beach-side dish, the Grill House spiced up the Aussie BBQ with a Mediterranean twist and the lobster shack added an extra element of extravagance. No matter what floated your boat, there was something on offer for everyone.

The Ocean Oasis redefined the meaning of ‘fresh’ and served up fish from ocean to plate – literally. Life Saving Victoria provided unexpected entertainment by rescuing a 100kg tuna from the ocean and carrying it on a stretcher to be resuscitated by the sashimi master.

Whilst the sashimi masters were unable to save the tuna… the guests made sure that it didn’t go to waste!

All in all, it was a magical night spent watching the sunset, snapping the endless insta-worthy moments and dancing in the twilight with new and existing networks. It was a night to remember for the industry and has only heightened the anticipation of what will be delivered at AIME 2021…
