The Countdown for Melbourne’s Most Marvellous Venue Begins

20 December 2020 •

The long-awaited opening of CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park is just around the corner as the venue prepares to showcase its latest developments and features at AIME 2021.

Located in the heart of the city’s bustling sporting and entertainment precinct, also home of the Australian Open Tennis Grand Slam Tournament, CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park has been designed with events in mind.

The venue celebrates the dynamic and diverse culture of Marvellous Melbourne, a melting pot of arts, sports, cuisine and unparalleled entertainment. Built with ultimate flexibility, this impressive three-story venue has capabilities to host events small and large, including intimate dinners, weddings, cocktail parties, conferences, gala awards evenings, tradeshows and more.

Accessible by rail, road, path and river, the venue’s location encapsulates its surrounding native Australian landscape and neighbouring Yarra River – just one of the many factors that makes this a uniquely Melbourne venue.

Delve deeper and discover the architectural intricacies that make CENTREPIECE so special.

Level One hosts the perfect space to host an intimate event, exclusive pre-cocktail or post-event afterparty. This hybrid indoor and outdoor space opens up onto Garden Square, which celebrates the countries native flora and fauna and open green spaces.

Level Two, adjacent to the iconic Rod Laver Arena, is the Pre-Function space and pillarless Grand Hall. With 8.5m high ceilings this 2,000sqm event space has the flexibility to be divided into half, thirds or a combination of both. The Grand Hall is connected to an outdoor terrace, that boasts uninterrupted views of Melbourne City’s skyline allowing natural light to cascade into your event.

Level Three has been designed as the official Media Centre for the Australian Open, hosting international media and tennis players from around the world. Once guests reach this floor, they will have the opportunity to experience multiple breakout meeting rooms including a 250-seat auditorium.

Complementing the many diverse spaces, any event at CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park will experience the culinary team’s Paddock to Plate philosophy offering direct from the state-of-the-art production kitchen. The menu will focus on Victoria First produce and sustainability, with an onsite kitchen garden that is watered with recycled water that is supplied from the precinct’s water harvesting and recycling system.

The venue’s green initiatives extend even further, built with LEED Gold Certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), cementing its commitment to reducing the venue’s carbon footprint.
