The AIME Team are working hard behind the ‘screen’ adapting to the new normal and brainstorming ways to make the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event better than ever in 2021. Darren Loewy is the Senior Operations Manager at Talk2 Media & Events and is a well-known name to all our suppliers! The style and design of AIME is attributed to Darren’s hard work in collaboration with industry experts. Darren is the man that makes it happen, despite any challenges along the way.

1. Why do you love events?
   It is a very rewarding job when you plan for something for so long and then see it come to life. I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with talented, skilful and passionate industry colleagues.
2. What is your favourite destination in the world?
   I have been fortunate to see many parts of the world. A couple of highlights include Machu Pichu in Peru as well as going on a safari in South Africa. Closer to home, I enjoy going to Palm Cove in far north Queensland with my family.
3. What is the last book you read?
   During my time in isolation, I have been reading to the kids daily. We recently completed the series of Weirdo by Anh Do.
4. What three words best describes you?
   Loyal, hardworking and friendly.
5. What have you learnt this year?
   We are all in this together and need to support others now more than ever.
6. What is a fact about you that surprises people?
   I am pretty good in the kitchen! My homemade baked cheesecake is a winner in the office. I have also had a hole in one on the golf course!
7. What are your daily simple pleasures during these isolated times?
   It definitely has to be the extra time with the family. I have been going for daily bike rides with my daughter and spending a lot of time in the kitchen baking and cooking new things with my kids.
8. What are you looking forward to most when isolation is over?
   Going to cafes and restaurants with my family and enjoy someone else’s cooking for a change…
